Senior UX Researcher (3 Month Contract)
The [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is looking for an experienced mixed-method UX researcher (3-month contract) to extend our capabilities for doing qualitative and quantitative research to understand the experiences and needs of the humans who use and contribute to Wikipedia and the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] projects. As part of the Research group, the UX Research team leads UX research with the goal to improve user experiences and increase global usage.
Reporting to the Manager, UX Research and working directly with another researcher on the team, you will be responsible for leading the execution of high-quality research. This is a part-time contract role (30 hours/week) and remote-first.
Hourly Rate: US$45/hour to US$55/hour
Responsibilities
- Coordinating work with the UX Research team point of contact and stakeholders.
- Supporting scoping of projects (methodologies, logistics, timelines).
- Developing understanding of product, context, and research objectives.
- Managing all phases of research: creating materials, coordinating operations, participant recruitment, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Delivering comprehensive research results with actionable insights.
- Communicating findings to stakeholders clearly.
Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of experience as a UX Researcher
- Expertise in quantitative methodologies: surveys, large-scale unmoderated testing, diary studies, UX benchmarking; statistical analysis, data visualization
- Experience in qualitative methodologies: interviews, contextual inquiry, diary studies
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Experience leading research projects start to finish (solo and collaborative)
- Experience working with product teams to translate insights into recommendations
