The Vacancy

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] George Williams House, Southampton is seeking a Housing Administrator. This is a permanent, full-time role (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday with occasional weekend, bank holiday and evening work).

Job Purpose

To assist the Supported Housing Manager and Supported Housing Area Manager with daily administration, planning and organising. Provide front of house reception and administrative support for residents including answering queries, diary management, help with correspondence, appointment making, and signposting.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Deliver front of house administrative support to the management team and residents
  • Answering telephone calls, scheduling appointments, organising diaries and meetings, booking rooms
  • Undertaking delegated tasks such as generating reports and creating documents
  • Processing payments, electric cards, helping interpret correspondence, making appointments and liaison with the wider team
  • Data entry on IT systems, interrogating systems for data and producing reports
  • Generating and distributing correspondence
  • Support rent arrear, rent collection and payment processes
  • Calmly and efficiently deal with challenging behaviour

Person Specification & Key Competencies

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Very good level of computer literacy and experience of using databases
  • Experience of working with young people
  • Experience in housing management/services role desirable
  • Understanding of issues facing young people; trauma informed communication training advantage
  • Working knowledge of equality, diversity and inclusion matters

  • Outgoing and friendly personality; able to communicate well with a wide range of people
  • Methodical and accurate approach; able to meet deadlines and present good reports
