Experienced Fire Engineer / Senior / Principal Fire Engineer
Our established client, a respected and thriving multi-disciplinary consultancy with internal CEng Fire Engineers, is looking to appoint an Experienced, Senior or Principal Fire Engineer to join its growing Fire Engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically capable engineer seeking progression, greater project ownership, and involvement in complex, design-led schemes across the UK and internationally.
Location: United Kingdom | Work Type: Hybrid | Salary: Up to £85k circa
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of fire engineering strategies throughout all project stages (RIBA 1–6)
- Undertake detailed fire engineering design work and performance-based assessments to support innovative architectural solutions
- Oversee and coordinate site-based fire safety activities, including design reviews, inspections, and compartmentation verification
- Work collaboratively with clients, design teams, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance and practical design integration
- Provide technical direction on challenging projects, ensuring quality, accuracy, and alignment with project objectives
- Contribute to the development of best practice within the team and provide mentorship and support to junior engineers

About You
- Proven experience in fire engineering design and delivery across multiple building types
- Strong working knowledge of UK Building Regulations
- Experience producing and reviewing Fire Strategy documentation
- Proactive and collaborative approach with a commitment to technical excellence
Desirable
- Degree qualified in Fire Engineering (or related discipline)
- Experience leading multidisciplinary coordination on complex design and fire strategy projects
