Senior / Principal Fire Engineer

Remote (UK-Based) | Hybrid options available

Full-Time | Permanent

Salary: Up to £100,000k + bonus + 2 days off every month + £2k circa bonus per month

Our client is a specialist fire-engineering consultancy delivering bespoke solutions for residential, commercial, and educational projects across the UK.

A vastly technical team of 12 fire engineers and growing, the team combines deep technical expertise with a personal, collaborative approach.

You’ll join a growing consultancy where you can influence direction, shape strategy, and progress into senior leadership.

The Opportunity

This consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior or Principal Fire Engineer to lead and deliver projects across an expanding portfolio.

This is a fully remote UK-based role, with optional hybrid collaboration.

You’ll oversee complex fire-engineering projects, provide high-level client advice, and mentor junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead fire strategy design for new and existing buildings.
  • Undertake retrospective fire-safety assessments and provide peer reviews.
  • Provide construction-stage fire-safety assurance and regulatory support.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, surveyors, project managers, and approval authorities.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring technical and commercial success.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to quality and innovation.
  • Support the development of internal systems, standards, and company culture.

Candidate Profile

Essential

  • Degree (BEng/MEng or equivalent) in Fire Engineering, Building Engineering, or related field.
  • Understanding of ADB, BS 9999, BS 9991, PAS 9980, and related fire standards.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
  • Self-driven, confident in working remotely within a close-knit team.

Desirable

  • Experience in external-wall remediation or related safety assessments.
  • IFE accreditation
