Role Information

Join a leading nuclear sector environmental team and take ownership of environmental compliance, permitting, and safety case input across high profile projects. We're looking for an experienced Environmental Lead to act as a trusted advisor across environmental regulation, permitting, and hazard analysis on a major regulated site.

  • Lead environmental permitting (RSR, Installation/PPC, GHG) and manage variations, renewals & compliance.
  • Provide environmental input into the nuclear safety case and lead Environmental HAZANs.
  • Support Environmental Impact Assessments and planning submissions.
  • Deliver environmental expertise for COMAH assessments and emergency planning.
  • Integrate ISO 14001 requirements across project phases and construction activities.
  • Build strong relationships with regulators, stakeholders and local communities.
  • Provide environmental expertise for COMAH safety reports, consequence assessments and emergency planning.
  • Support demonstration of prevention and mitigation capability for major environmental incidents.

Qualifications / Experience Required

  • Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering - or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental permitting, nuclear safety case requirements, HAZANs, COMAH, EIA and ISO 14001.
  • Experience in a regulated/high hazard environment (nuclear preferred).
  • Excellent communication, reporting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently.

Desirable: Membership of IEMA/SRP/CIWEM. Experience with regulatory submissions. Knowledge of radioactive waste management and sustainability practices. Experience working on multifunctional or nuclear sites.
