Caseworker

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Caseworker to join a high‑profile, sensitive programme within a government department. The role requires handling complex information, making decisions in line with policy, and working under strict procedural guidelines. The successful candidate will operate in a fast‑paced environment, managing cases with discretion and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse and interpret complex information from multiple sources to make informed decisions.
  • Apply relevant government policies and procedures accurately to casework.
  • Produce clear, well‑justified decisions and communicate outcomes effectively.
  • Manage tight deadlines in a sensitive operational context.
  • Engage with stakeholders professionally, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Work with graphic or sensitive content, demonstrating resilience and empathy.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven casework experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to work within strict policy frameworks and follow procedures consistently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Data Protection principles.
  • Demonstrated resilience and empathy when handling sensitive material.

Desirable

  • Experience within Home Office, police, or immigration environments.
  • Handling complex cases involving multiple stakeholders and sources of information.

Additional Information

Job Title: Caseworker
Location: Whitehall, London (Hybrid - onsite induction, then 1-3 days per week as required)
Contract Length: Until 31/03/2027
Pay Rate: Negotiable
Hours: 37 hours per week - 7.4 hour days
