Semi Skilled Team Member / FLT operator

Job Details

  • Location: Manchester Train Care Centre, Longsight, M12 4HR
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • End Date: End of June 2027
  • Hours: 48 hours per week (average over 4 weeks)
  • Shift Pattern: Days (06:00-16:00) or Nights (19:00-06:00)

Role Overview

Working as part of the Overhaul team to assist in service, maintenance, repair and overhaul of rolling stock. Operate in a semi-skilled role assisting mechanical and electrical fitters. Must have a valid counterbalance FLT licence.

Pay & Benefits

  • Pre 12 weeks: PAYE £19.30/hr (28 days leave) / Umbrella £24.98/hr
  • Post 12 weeks: PAYE £19.30/hr (33 days leave) / Umbrella £26.38/hr
  • Retainer: £1.00/hr on all hours worked (subject to tooling return and project completion)
  • PPE provided by [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]
  • Tooling provided by Client
  • On-site messroom, coverall cleaning, lockers, showers

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Operation of Mechanical or Electrical appliances including Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence
  • Live within reasonable distance of Manchester City Centre
  • Right to work in the UK

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all depot protection procedures
  • Adhere to safety notices, rules, regulations, HASAW and COSHH
  • Assist with overhaul production activities
  • Work within Quality System standards
  • Labour, lubrication, steam lancing, crane driving, FLT driving, systems top up
  • Maintain general housekeeping standards
