Site Representative

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking an experienced Client/Site Representative to support highways enabling works on a major infrastructure and renewable energy project in Dartford. The role is fully site-based and involves acting as the client's on-site representative, overseeing quality, progress, safety, and compliance, with extensive coordination with contractors, local authorities, and utility providers. This is a 6-month contract with strong possibility of extension, paying up to £600 per day.

The Role

You will support the delivery of enabling works required ahead of construction on a major infrastructure project, including road widening and utility diversions to facilitate access to the main site. The role will involve extensive coordination with contractors, local authorities, utility providers and other stakeholders, ensuring the works progress smoothly and issues are resolved efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the client's on-site representative overseeing highways enabling works
  • Monitor quality, progress, safety and compliance on site
  • Perform duties aligned with the NEC4 Supervisor role
  • Identify and escalate risks, issues and commercial impacts
  • Coordinate interfaces between contractors and external stakeholders
  • Manage relationships with utilities and local authorities
  • Ensure works comply with planning conditions and project requirements
  • Support the Works Package Manager with delivery of the overall package

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Local Highways Authority
  • Utility providers (power, telecoms, water)
  • Contractors and subcontractors
  • Environmental and archaeological specialists
  • Local community representatives

Experience Required

  • Strong background in civil engineering projects, ideally highways or heavy civils
  • Experience overseeing site delivery and contractor performance
  • Strong stakeholder management and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in a fully site-based role

Desirable

  • Experience in utilities, energy or infrastructure projects
  • Knowledge of utility diversions or enabling works
  • SMSTS certification
  • Full UK driving licence
