FULL DESCRIPTION

Customer Support Engineer

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Customer Support Engineer to join the Global Customer Support team in Aberdeen, UK.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide technical support of Offshore Marine, Subsea and Positioning division products to customers, sales staff, customer support staff and rental staff by telephone, email and customer visits.
  • Complete service jobs on equipment delivered by [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] to a satisfactory level.
  • Carry out installation, commissioning and upgrades of products and functions delivered by [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal].
  • Assist Operations Manager in solving long term technical problems together with technical staff in Norway.
  • Report problems and improvements back to product responsible departments.
  • Ensure communications from customers receive a response within acceptable time frame.
  • Document upgrades and other changes made to [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] systems following service and installation visits.
  • Maintain and update CRM and other service databases.
  • Maintain and update technical knowledge on products delivered by [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] ([Employer hidden]).
  • Promote improvements, upgrades and aftersales opportunities to customers.
  • Promote correct use of [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] procedures, processes, service tools and databases.
  • Regular travel within the UK and Ireland to support customers, and additional frequent travel outside the UK to support global customers.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Technical education in Electronics, Computer Science or Applied Science
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience of electronics in the field or base
  • Have offshore experience or be prepared to travel offshore which requires maintaining valid offshore survival and offshore medical certification. Training and medicals provided by the company.
