Community Outreach Adviser

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a part-time Community Outreach Adviser to provide holistic advice and support across Skye, Raasay, and Lochalsh. Based in Portree, the role requires a driving licence and knowledge of benefits and money advice.

Job Details

  • Location: Portree and various outreach locations throughout Skye, Raasay and Lochalsh
  • Salary: £23,296 per year (28 hours per week)
  • Job Type: Part-time, Fixed term to 30 June 2028 (extension dependent on funding)
  • Benefits: 28 days annual leave plus public holidays (pro rata) and 8% employer pension contribution
  • Hours: 28 hours over a 4- or 5-day week
  • Closing Date: Monday 18th May 2026, 12 noon

Role Overview

The Community Outreach Adviser will provide a high standard of holistic advice and support to clients, particularly those marginalised and vulnerable, across various outreach locations. A considerable knowledge of benefits and money advice is desirable, along with excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills. The role includes providing information, advice, and representation. A current driving licence and access to own vehicle are essential. The post is subject to disclosure of criminal and PVG checks.
