HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) - Barnsley, South Yorkshire - £26,599 - £28,665 annual (ACTUAL SALARY) - 33 hours p/w term time ONLY including 5 inset days.

The Role

  • Supporting and leading a class
  • Ability to form relationships and communicate effectively
  • Strong communication skills
  • Completing pupil records with regular feedback to senior colleagues
  • Flexible to cover other classes and act up where necessary
  • Using your experience to lead enrichment groups
  • Be involved and active with all activities we as an inclusive school may promote
  • Direct junior staff

The Candidate

  • Experience in a school or similar setting
  • Experience working with children/young people with SEN / SEMH needs
  • Educated with GCSE Maths and English
  • Level 3 qualification with desire to complete Level 4
  • HLTA qualification OR willing to achieve within 2 years through our CPD programme
  • Car driver with access to own vehicle OR willingness to learn

Salary & Hours

Starting salary for HLTA is £26,559 actual annual salary working 33 hours per week Mon-Fri term time only + 5 inset days + amazing benefits working for our Wellspring trust.
