Salary: £32,916.00 - £45,352.00 Annually (FTE)
Contract: Maternity Cover, Full-Time

At [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] our children come first. The successful candidate will work alongside a caring, enthusiastic, dedicated team. This is a temporary maternity cover post for 2 terms. Shortlisted candidates will deliver a short lesson on Wednesday 20th May followed by a face to face interview. Main Purpose of the Job
- Be responsible for the learning and achievement of all pupils in the class/es ensuring equality of opportunity for all
- Be responsible and accountable for achieving the highest possible standards in work and conduct
- Treat pupils with dignity, building relationships rooted in mutual respect
- Work proactively in collaboration with learners, parents/carers, governors, other staff and external agencies
- Act within statutory frameworks and in line with the School Teachers Pay and Conditions Document and Teacher Standards (2012)
- Take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the Academy
Duties and Responsibilities
All teachers are required to carry out the duties of a teacher as set out in the current School Teachers Pay And Conditions Document. Teachers’ performance will be assessed against the teacher standards as part of the appraisal process.
Teaching
- Deliver the curriculum as relevant to the age and ability group
- Prepare and develop teaching materials and programmes
- Be accountable for the attainment, progress and outcomes of pupils
- Differentiate teaching to meet pupils’ capabilities prior knowledge
- Understand needs of all pupils including SEN, gifted and talented, EAL, disabilities
- Promote high standards of literacy and use systematic synthetic phonics for early reading
- Use assessment strategies to set challenging learning objectives and monitor progress
- Give regular feedback and encourage pupils to take responsibility for their own work
- Set homework and plan out-of-class activities
- Participate in examination and assessment arrangements
Behaviour and Safety
- Establish a safe, purposeful environment with a framework for discipline using praise and rewards consistently
- Manage classes effectively using approaches appropriate to pupils’ needs
- Maintain good relationships and be a positive role model
- Have high expectations of behaviour
- Carry out playground and other duties as directed
- Be responsible for safeguarding and raising concerns following Academy protocol
Team Working and Collaboration
- Participate in meetings and professional development opportunities
- Work as a team member and share effective practice
- Contribute to the selection and professional development of other staff
- Ensure colleagues understand their roles
- Take part in review, development and management of curriculum and pastoral functions
- Cover for absent colleagues
Fulfill Wider Professional Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively to develop effective professional relationships
- Deploy support staff effectively
- Communicate with parents/carers regarding achievements and well-being
- Communicate with relevant external bodies
- Make a positive contribution to the wider life of the Academy
Administration
- Register attendance and supervise learners
- Carry out administrative and organisational tasks
Professional Development
- Regularly review effectiveness of teaching and assessment
- Participate fully in training and development opportunities
- Proactively participate in appraisal arrangements
Other
- Have professional regard for Academy ethos, policies and practices
- Perform any reasonable duties as requested by the Principal
Subject Coordinator Responsibilities (if applicable)
- Have thorough knowledge of subject and keep up to date
- Make and maintain links with other foundation subject leaders
- Undertake further training for leadership in the subject
- Maintain an action plan for subject development
- Report on progress in area of responsibility
- Support and promote subject aims
- Ensure National Strategies coverage through work scrutiny
- Provide exemplary teaching model
- Support delivery of subject across school
- Provide INSET training and briefings
- Maintain inventory of equipment
- Purchase new equipment
- Ensure proper storage and display of resources
- Ensure safe use of resources
