[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dedicated and inspirational Head of Psychology to provide leadership and management of our A level Psychology provision. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious practitioner to lead a successful and growing subject area, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning and excellent outcomes for students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and a clear vision for A level Psychology
  • Secure high standards of teaching, learning and assessment
  • Lead on curriculum design, pedagogy and assessment
  • Monitor and evaluate teaching and learning, including lesson drop-ins and book looks
  • Analyse assessment and performance data to inform improvement
  • Lead teachers of Psychology and support professional development
  • Maintain schemes of work, assessment processes and departmental documentation
  • Contribute to whole-school priorities

The Successful Candidate Will

  • Be a highly effective classroom teacher of Psychology
  • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and effective pedagogy
  • Have the ability to lead, motivate and support colleagues
  • Use assessment data effectively to raise achievement
