FULL DESCRIPTION

Learning Designer

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Learning Designer to help shape how learning is designed and delivered. This is a hybrid role based in London (International House).

About The Role

Learning Designer where learning design matters. (Hybrid – London)

We’re hiring a Learning Designer to help shape how learning is designed and delivered at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]. If you can lead learning projects and you enjoy working with complexity to create engaging digital learning products, we’d like to hear from you! At [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], learning design isn’t a support function, it is the product. Your design judgement and quality directly shapes how we deliver and succeed. This isn’t a role for someone who simply produces content to spec. We’re looking for a designer who brings perspective, takes ownership, and improves the work by questioning it and modelling high standards.

What you’ll do

  • Shape learning journeys from the outset, working with portfolio directors, curriculum managers, and subject matter experts
  • Translate complex, sometimes competing requirements into learner‑centred design decisions
  • Own the pedagogical approach across multiple projects, ensuring learning is grounded in sound theory and best practice
  • Write, review, and refine scripts and course outlines, setting a high bar for narrative quality, clarity, and accessibility
  • Make proactive design recommendations, proposing formats, structures, and approaches rather than waiting for instruction
  • Drive momentum across multiple projects simultaneously by anticipating risks, identifying next steps, and resolving ambiguity
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including graphics and video teams, publishing teams, and learning technologists
  • Identify areas (either processes or content) that could be improved or streamlined to ensure timely delivery of content to a high standard
  • Set standards for quality across your work and guide others through feedback, mentorship, and managing freelancers
  • Proactively build and strengthen relationships across content, production, and portfolio teams
  • Use learner feedback and data to improve both content and ways of working
  • Contribute to evolving how [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] designs and delivers learning overall

What you bring

You bring confidence in your craft and are comfortable with responsibility. We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Experience leading digital learning design from idea to delivery
  • Strong judgement and the confidence to make, and defend, design decisions
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders and constructively challenging decisions
  • Comfort working with evolving briefs
  • Experience working with learning platforms and tools (LMSs and related technologies)
