Job Description

We are looking for Material Site Technicians to join our team in Heathrow for Concrete, Asphalt and soil testing and sampling. "Soil Testing? What an EARTH is that?" I hear you say - (Pun 100% intended!) ... Well don't panic this is a no experience necessary position as we will give full training! All we need from you is a strong work ethic, like for being outdoors and being a team player! You'll be outside away from stuffy offices working on a wide variety of sites and major projects carrying out on-site testing and sampling activities. There will be some early starts with travelling - but who likes to be in the same place day in day out? You may even be asked to stay away or work night shifts now and again - but that adds to the excitement of a new career right? (We of course, pay allowances for this too.)

Requirements

• Educated to GCSE level or above with a good level of numeracy and literacy.
• Experience in construction laboratory testing is advantageous but not required.
• IT literate.
• Full UK Driving License.
• Accurate and consistent record keeping.

Working Hours

42.5 hours per week (longer days to be expected with travel) Working Monday - Friday (night work when necessary with options for weekend work when available)

Responsibilities

Responsible to: Operation Supervisors and Operational Manager

Responsible for: Output of accurate testing data.

Objectives:

• To produce test results in accordance with the documented procedures, standards and specifications.
• To ensure testing/sampling activities are maintained in compliance with UKAS and Company requirements.
• To ensure that the laboratory and site working areas are safe, clean and tidy environments in which to work.

Duties:

• To work in a safe manner that is in accordance with the Company Health & Safety Policy.
• To carry out allocated work in accordance with documented in house procedures, in an expeditious manner.
• To integrate into the team and maintain a strong harmony and morale throughout the laboratory.

Main Tasks:

• To carry out daily work tasks as set by senior personnel.
• To maintain a clean and tidy work environment and equipment at all times.
• To carry out any other relevant tasks as directed by senior staff.
