About the Role

We are looking to recruit a new Assistant Manager for our shop in Bridgwater, Somerset. We offer a permanent full time position working a variety of shifts 5 days from 7 each week usually including at least one weekend shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with the shop manager to run an efficient shop and provide great service
• Develop your team of retail assistants through coaching, mentoring and feedback
• Be accountable for the shop in the manager's absence, ensuring customers are looked after and deliveries are worked quickly
• Motivate and guide your team to control operational costs including shrinkage, waste and payroll
• Support the shop manager with recruitment and induction of new team members

Requirements

• A friendly, positive, hard working approach
• A 'people person' who builds strong working relationships
• Trustworthy and reliable
• Some experience as a manager, team leader or supervisor
• Must pass an Employment Verification check and a Basic DBS check (England/Wales) or Disclosure Scotland check (Scotland)
