Science Project Intern

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Science Project Intern for the ADCRA project. This is an on-site internship in London with a salary of £25,579 per annum.

About the Role

This research project is part of the ADCRA project (Accelerated Diversification for Climate-Resilient Agriculture) and aims at characterising the responses to abiotic stresses of multiple accessions of 50 wild edible plant species from Sub-Saharan Africa. The target species belong to three main groups of crop wild relatives: wild millets, wild legumes and wild yams and are being collected by Millennium Seed Bank (MSB) partners in Africa (Ghana, Mozambique, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia).

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience with seed germination testing
  • Preparing chemical solutions
  • Use of scalpels to extract plant tissues
  • Experimental activities in nurseries and/or growth chambers
  • At least two years of university education or a graduate within the past two years from start date
