Description

We are looking for a dynamic and dedicated Inpatient Physiotherapist who is eager to learn, with extensive post-graduate professional development in Inpatient physiotherapy, to join our dedicated physiotherapy team here at the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal].

The inpatient therapies team at the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] provides specialist assessment and treatment to patients admitted to the wards, when clinically indicated. Our aim is to deliver evidence-based, high quality care, which is achieved through a clear governance strategy, service planning, development and multidisciplinary team working.

Located in leafy St John’s Wood on the Jubilee line, minutes from Central London, our independent private Hospital has just been rated the number one in the country for care in the latest Bupa survey. Uniquely, all profits fund our onsite Hospice, St John’s.

Requirements

  • BSc (hons) degree in Physiotherapy or diploma or equivalent
  • Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration for physiotherapy
  • Evidence of post graduate professional development
  • Evidence of working at Band 6 level or equivalent
  • Relevant experience in: Neuro rehabilitation (e.g. stroke, neurological conditions)
  • ICU/critical care physiotherapy
  • Experience of working across different inpatient specialties e.g. orthopaedic, respiratory, neurological, post-surgical.
  • Experience of MDT working, particularly in ICU and neuro settings
  • Experience of working on an On Call rota

Responsibilities

  • To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of own professional activities in line with the standards of the Hospital, department, Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • To have overall accountability for the planning and management of a complex caseload including neuro rehabilitation patients with complex neurological deficits and ICU patients requiring respiratory/ rehabilitative support.
  • To utilise advanced clinical reasoning to assess and treat: Patients with acquired stroke, and other common neurological conditions; Critically ill ventilated and non-ventilated patients.
  • To contribute to service development initiatives in critical care and neuro rehabilitation pathways.
  • To demonstrate a strong understanding of clinical governance, particularly within ICU and neuro rehabilitation settings.
  • To plan, prioritise and delegate effectively and efficiently with regard to patient care and professional demands.
  • To represent the profession and service in appropriate internal and external meetings/groups.
