Merchandiser - 12 Month FTC

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Services is hiring a Merchandiser for a 12-month fixed-term contract in Gloucester. This full-time role involves maximizing sales and margin through efficient stock planning, managing product assortment, and overseeing a small team.

The business recently joined the €1bn+ global materials division of Broadview Holding, and are now looking to invest towards the future. Our people are a key area of investment, and we are now looking for a progressive, strategic and commercially minded Merchandiser to join our team.

Job Purpose

Maximise sales and margin performance through efficient stock planning and delivering excellent product availability, trading across multiple warehouses and websites. Support the Head of Buying and Merchandising with regular analysis and forecasts whilst working with the Buyers to build a market-leading range. Management of the Merchandising team support to the wider Buying & Merchandising and Commercial team. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to provide seamless end to end stock management and keep the business informed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage product assortment and stock levels, ensuring excellent availability always.
  • Management of the stock lifecycle: ensuring seamless product launches, maintaining appropriate stock levels to maximise trading, and efficient and controlled clearance activity.
  • End to end stock management: work closely with suppliers, logistics and operation to coordinate deliveries and minimise disruption.
  • Own the WSSI: maintain, update and present findings to stakeholders, recommending actions to maximise profitability and minimise excess inventory.
  • Monitor sales performance against agreed KPI’s across all categories, preparing analysis to support reviews and identifying opportunities to enhance performance.
  • Daily collaboration with the Buying team to develop and execute market-leading range; support range changes with relevant analysis, forecasts and maintain high level of market awareness.
  • Co-ordinating promotional activity, including management of line lists, then providing the business with performance updates.
  • Overseeing and approving orders prepared by the Merchandising team, ensuring sensible OTB management.
  • Manage 2x direct reports, Junior Merchandisers
