Job Description

Heatherside Rest Home is a warm, welcoming residential care home dedicated to providing high‑quality support and a homely environment for our residents. Food plays an essential part in the health, wellbeing, and happiness of those we care for — and we’re looking for a Chef/Cook who shares our passion for nutritious, home‑cooked meals.

The Role

We are seeking a reliable, creative and compassionate Chef/Cook to join our team on a part‑time basis.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook fresh, well-balanced meals and snacks for residents.
Cater for dietary needs, allergies, preferences, and textured diets.
Maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment following food hygiene standards.
Work collaboratively with care and management teams.
Support menu planning and food ordering where required.
Ensure a positive dining experience for all residents.

Hours & Pay

14–21 hours per week (alternating)
Includes alternate weekends
£14.40 per hour

About You

Have experience cooking in a care home or similar environment (desirable but not essential).
Are confident preparing meals from scratch.
Understand food hygiene and safety regulations.
Are friendly, organised, and passionate about good food and good care.
