Technical Support Engineer - Refrigeration/HVAC

Location: Manchester, Greater Manchester, England | Salary: £45k - 50k per year | Job Type: Full Time | Sector: Engineering & Manufacturing

Duties

Technical Selections/Support (Engineer) - UK Based. Our client a leading and trusted Wholesale Distributor of Refrigeration & Air Conditioning equipment across Ireland and the UK. As a recognised HVAC/R Distributor, we provide an efficient, knowledgeable, and collaborative service to our customers and partners. Our service is backed with our strong network of branches and warehouses (with dedicated support).

Are you a senior Refrigeration Engineer who is looking for your next step into Managing or a technical support role based in the UK? Have a proven Refrigeration/HAVC engineering background or from an engineering sales background. Or are you already a Managing Engineer within the Refrigeration sector looking to join a strong and stable company with career opportunities.

Role Overview

  • Provide technical support as required, advice regarding operational issues and provide assistance for major incidents.
  • Assist the team is delivering high quality PPM work.
  • Assist the Technical Manager with effective budgetary management of parts and material usage, reporting overspend and variances to budget.
  • Demonstrate management/supervisory experience (desirable).
  • Ability to supervise engineers in a pressurised environment dealing with store teams.
  • You could be part of a branch office depending on location (Glasgow or Manchester are good locations with space) or be home office based or combination… All office equipment will be supplied if working from home. Training on unknown elements would be provided.
  • It is a requirement that you occasionally attend sites for us to carry out commissioning or fault finding or survey or indirect sales activities, so a central location would be best, but not critical. You will enjoy working autonomously in a pressurised environment and be able to prioritise a complex and demanding workload.
  • Lights tools work would be required. Working from reasonable heights would be required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to communicate all operational issues within your region. Customer service driven and enjoy working within a people focused environment.
  • Identify new business opportunities within the sector.
  • Develop and manage relationships with key accounts, ensuring repeat business and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide technical advice on product selection, compatibility and system integration.
  • You would be part of the technical team led by the (Technical Manager), so will have strong support from refrigeration engineers with many years of experience, although you may work alone, you will be supported by our team…
  • Our clients predominantly operate a 24/7 basis, there is a requirement to be flexible.
