Electrical Maintenance Engineer

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrically Biased) for a full-time, on-site position in Red Street, Staffordshire. Salary: £52k per year.

Duties

  • Support the engineering team in delivering an effective maintenance programme through planned, predictive, and condition-based maintenance.
  • Assist with site-wide technical compliance, ensuring rapid response to breakdowns and maintaining effective production cover.
  • Carry out planned, predictive, and condition-based maintenance across site to maximise plant efficiency.
  • Provide fast and effective response to production breakdowns.
  • Support and manage external contractors during installation or improvement projects.
  • Build strong working relationships with production teams to minimise downtime.
  • Ensure efficient use of engineering stores and minimise waste/costs.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and housekeeping within engineering areas.
  • Work closely with the Engineering Manager to optimise labour and material costs.
  • Ensure effective shift handovers and clear communication within the engineering team.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across the plant.
  • Maintain high Health & Safety standards, ensuring compliance at all times.

Skills & Experience Requirements

  • Apprentice trained or relevant Electrical Engineering qualifications.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, circuits, and fault finding.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve electrical issues efficiently.
  • Experience reading electrical schematics and using testing equipment.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety standards and safe working practices.
  • PLC experience (desirable).
  • Experience using CMMS systems for maintenance tracking.
  • Computer literate.
