Health & Safety & Fire Safety Co-ordinator

Location: HMP Dumfries

Salary: £37,682 - £44,248 per annum (Pay Band D)

Vacancy Type: Permanent, Full-time (35 hours/week)

Working Pattern: Normal Office Hours, Hybrid Eligible

About The Role

To provide advice, guidance and support to [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] managers and staff to enable them to fulfil their respective Health & Fire Safety (HFS) responsibilities competently and in accordance with legislation and [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Policies and Procedures. Carry out compliance monitoring and reviews of the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Safety Management System (SMS) and HFS Policies.

About the Successful Candidate

Qualifications

  • Essential: Must hold NEBOSH General Certificate and be willing to work towards NVQ level 5/6 or equivalent NEBOSH National Diploma within 18-24 months. Must have attained NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate or [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Fire Safety Officer Accreditation.
  • Essential: Attained or willing to work towards level 3 Learning and Development qualification within 12 months.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Essential: Competent in the use of computerised systems including SharePoint and Microsoft Office.
  • Desirable: Previous experience working within health, safety and fire safety.
  • Essential: Knowledge of current Health & Fire Safety legislative requirements for a large diverse working environment.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of relevant Health & Safety processes and procedures.
