Job Description
We are looking for a motivated and customer focused Commercial Account Manager to join our Hydraulics and Pneumatics division. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong communication skills and a passion for sales and customer service. The role focuses on developing relationships with existing customers, re engaging dormant accounts, generating new business opportunities and converting quotations into sales orders. You will play a key role in maximising sales potential while delivering exceptional customer service. Working as part of a dynamic internal sales team, the successful candidate will be responsible for proactively contacting customers, preparing quotations, progressing orders and identifying opportunities to grow business.
Responsibilities
- Proactively contact dormant or low spending customer accounts to identify opportunities and grow sales.
- Generate and follow up quotations to maximise quote conversion into sales orders.
- Achieve targets relating to quote conversion, sales turnover, and gross margin contribution.
- Enter sales orders accurately and promptly into the company’s internal systems.
- Confirm payment methods and delivery arrangements for all customer orders.
- Maintain regular communication with customers via telephone and email.
- Make daily proactive outbound calls to new, prospective or existing customers.
- Coordinate and schedule customer visits for field sales or technical representatives when required.
- Contribute positively to team performance and maintain excellent levels of customer service.
Skills
- Excellent telephone manner and strong communication skills.
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach to sales and customer service.
- Good IT skills and confidence using computer systems.
- The ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong organisational and attention to detail.
- Previous experience in internal sales, account management, customer service, or sales support is desirable.
- Experience within engineering, hydraulics, pneumatics or industrial components would be advantageous but is not essential as training will be provided.
