Toolroom Manager
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] are recruiting for a Toolroom Manager based in Lancing. Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum.
Main Purpose of the Role
To assist the Managing Director in the day-to-day management and operation of the toolroom and ensuring the safety of staff at all times. Leading by example, motivate a team, set clear objectives, train, develop and mentor all toolroom employees, and ensure tooling maintenance in accordance with drawings and H&S procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- In conjunction with customer care & planning, distribute workflow, order raw materials, establish priorities, monitor progress, revise schedules, and resolve problems.
- Work alongside Senior toolmaker and designer to resolve technical issues promptly.
- Induct new employees in line with company policy.
- Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting and training employees, developing personal growth opportunities.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure clear communication.
- Ensure key toolroom KPI's are met and assist in collating relevant data.
- Implement IOSH training and ensure H&S good practice, including safe use of equipment and correct PPE.
- Maintain safe and clean working environments using 6S approach.
- Produce risk assessments, safe systems of work and work instructions.
- Manage, develop, appraise and motivate employees' performance.
- Be main point of contact when Managing Director is off site, making appropriate decisions.
Working Hours
8:00am - 17:00pm Monday to Friday
