Sector Specialist

Position: Sector Specialist

Salary: £40,000 - £65,000 per annum

Role Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Working at the heart of the business, working toward developing & growing our transport sector, specifically the rail network.
  • Responsible for working on projects that transforms our potential in transport, using your knowledge of standards, but also having a clear understanding of our business.
  • Responsible for understanding the strategy behind the companies products for the rail sector of transport (within London).
  • Responsible for getting to know customer (Network Rail & Train Operating Companies), then clearly communicating the benefits of products to them. This could be done via advertising, media campaigns, tradeshows, getting the product featured in relevant industry analysts, etc.
  • Build the path to success through market research, relationship building and marketing.
  • Be involved in some of the largest infrastructure projects, delivering company expertise.
  • Responsible for building & maintaining both internal and external relationships.
  • Educating & training internally & externally on standards, you should have a high level of attention to detail & the ability to influence.
  • Focused on new product launches, awards in industry and marketing in a number of media sources, you will be responsible for market research & various aspects of marketing. Preparing communication materials in collaboration with Marketing and external teams as & when required.
  • Analysing, managing and coordinating quantitative and qualitative data collected as part of market research.
  • Communicate products value to the market by training & development, creating compelling materials, developing tools & campaigns to attract new prospects & customers.
  • There is plenty of room to develop and grow in this role, which could include international travel.

Minimum Requirements

  • Relevant degree or experience in a related field.
  • Understanding of standards is required.
  • Experience and understanding in transport, ideally the rail network.
  • Excellent communication skills including presentations & report-writing. You must possess excellent communication skills, both written & verbal, and be able to adapt your style to different circumstances including to a variety of internal & external stakeholders.
  • Ability to be a strong team player who has an enthusiastic & motivated attitude.
  • Someone mature and flexible who can adapt to ever-changing priorities would thrive in this role.
  • Experience planning & delivering information sessions (eg, internal training).
  • Ability to be well organised, with a structured approach to the delivery of tasks, with the ability to adapt to a varied workload within a fast-changing environment.
  • Ability to analyse quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Knowledge of social and digital media channels, as well as traditional methods, with a view to using these to better connect with target audiences.
  • Candidates with a background in engineering consultancy, Product Marketing Manager, Client Engagement would probably be most suited for this role. Whilst there is a 'sales' element to this role, this is not a traditional sales role.
  • Lighting experience is not required but would be considered an asset.
