Job Description

The Urban Driver Apprenticeship is a 15-month programme where apprentices will learn all aspects of professional driving as well as gaining their Category C1 (7.5t) Licence. This is with a view to moving to a full time 7.5t Driver position within [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] upon completion of the apprenticeship. Responsibilities include non-driving duties such as office work, drivers’ mate and warehousing during training.

Key Tasks/Areas of Responsibility

  • Represent [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] in a professional manner at all times
  • Carry out all tasks required as part of the apprenticeship training
  • Drive vehicles in a safe and legal manner ensuring compliance with all legal and company requirements
  • All daily checks are undertaken ensuring defects are immediately reported
  • Ensure all products are scanned using [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] scanning equipment
  • Ensure all deliveries are loaded safely prior to leaving the depot
  • Observe [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] procedures and policies
  • Manage routing to ensure premium and timed deliveries are achieved
  • Ensure correct equipment and PPE is in good order
  • Report delivery and on road issues to the traffic office
  • Ensure customer receives deliveries in excellent condition
  • Deal with customer issues politely and effectively
  • Ensure collections are made in line with instructions

Qualifications/Entry Requirements

  • Must be 18 or over with a minimum of 12 months UK driving experience
  • Category B licence
