Salary: £32,000-£35,000/year + £65 per sleep-in

About the Role

You will be working on a rota basis: 9am – 5pm, 10am – 6pm, 1pm – 9pm, with additional support for sleep-ins where required. We are looking for someone who will work closely and supportively with the Registered Manager to ensure high standards of care are consistently maintained. You will play a key role in ensuring the home operates in accordance with all relevant regulatory frameworks and will deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager.

Essential Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Able to work on a rota basis (including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays)
  • Able to work 24hr shifts inclusive of a sleep-in
  • Good understanding of safeguarding children and young people
  • Experience working with children and young people in a residential setting
  • Completed or enrolled on Diploma Level 3 Children & Young People Workforce (or NVQ equivalent)

Preferable Qualifications

  • Hold a Level 3 in Residential Care (or equivalent)
  • 1 year’s experience working in residential care
  • Experience supporting children with EBD/LD

Skills

  • Ability to motivate and enthuse staff
  • Coaching and training skills

  • Understanding of the needs of SEMH children, including managing challenging behaviour
