About the Role

We are on the hunt for an Electrical Technician to join a small team working on the automation of our standard and bespoke packaging machines. This role will be predominantly based in our factory, but some travel may be required within the UK and overseas as the role progresses.

Responsibilities

• Work from electrical drawings.
• Installation and testing of various optical/electromagnetic sensors, solenoids and other control equipment.
• Building electrical control panels.
• Electrical sub-assembly.
• Preparing and fitting enclosures.
• Fitting of cable trays, trunking, conduit and other electrical infrastructure.
• Installation of single and three-phase circuits and control wiring to the machines, including PLC’s and touch-screen human/machine interface systems.
• Electrical fault finding.
• Progression to PLC program installation, fault finding and machine commissioning in house.

Requirements

• Some experience in a similar role.
• Ability to demonstrate basic electrical knowledge.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to follow procedures/instructions.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to use hand tools competently.
• Good housekeeping practices.

Hours and Pay

• 39.00 hours per week.
• Working hours Mon–Fri 07:45 – 16:15.
• Salary negotiable depending on experience and suitability.
• Overtime @ 1.5 when available.
• 20 days holiday per annum +1 day for each year’s service for the first 5 years.
