Management Accountant

  • Salary: £38,000 – £42,000 per annum
  • Job Type: Temporary (Temp to Perm)

Job Description

Working for an established social housing contractor. The Management Accountant role reports directly into the business director and aims to provide financial insight to support management decisions in the form of monthly management accounts, KPI reports and ad hoc analysis.

Key Duties

  • Management accounts production – posting journal entries and production of monthly WIP schedule
  • Maintenance of fixed asset register
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Overseeing payroll function & monthly salary payment
  • Monitoring daily cashflow forecast
  • Weekly payment runs to suppliers & sub-contractors
  • Lead role in statutory audit for trading company
  • Quarterly VAT returns
  • Production of monthly management report
  • Weekly WIP monitoring & reporting
  • Ad hoc analysis – customer profitability reviews, ONS returns, CITB levy submissions

Key Skills

  • Fully qualified or working towards accounting qualification
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good working knowledge of Excel & accounting systems
  • Confident engaging with multiple stakeholders
  • Previous experience within construction industry
