[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is recruiting Sessional Counsellors to provide therapeutic support to children and young people across Kent, London, Surrey, Sussex, and remotely in the UK. The role pays £23.48 per hour and is temporary, part-time. This is a remote position with potential for face-to-face work in specified locations.

We offer a flexible range of support tailored to each child’s needs, including face-to-face sessions in our centres, school-based counselling, and secure online counselling for young people and parents. Using creative and therapeutic approaches, our counsellors create a safe space to help children build resilience, understand their emotions, and take positive steps forward. We are always keen to hear from qualified, experienced Children’s Counsellors who are passionate about supporting children and young people. We deliver counselling in schools, online, and face‑to‑face in our centres, and we welcome applications from counsellors who can offer regular sessional availability in their local area(s).

About the Role
- Provide one‑to‑one counselling for children and young people, offering safe, supportive, and professional sessions.
- Act on safeguarding concerns appropriately and liaise with safeguarding leads, parents, and professionals where required.
- Work independently while keeping accurate records, managing referrals, evaluations, and consent forms.
- Collaborate with schools, social care teams, and health providers to support the wellbeing of children and families.
- Maintain professional standards through supervision, training, and CPD, staying up to date with legislation and best practice.

About You
- Qualification to Level 5 Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People.
- Registered membership of a recognised professional counselling body (e.g., BACP, UKCP, NCPS, PTUK).
- At least 100 counselling hours with children and 100 hours with adults.
- Confidence working independently with strong interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
- Excellent understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and the challenges faced by children and young people.
- A growth mindset: keen to learn, open to feedback, and looking for a role where you can develop your skills and make a long‑term impact.
- Commitment to ongoing CPD and reflective learning in line with professional body expectations.
