With a strong pipeline of secured projects, we're looking for a talented Design Engineer with Solar experience to join our team at our head office in Uddingston. Part of the wider [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Group, we support the UK's journey to Net Zero by designing and delivering technically robust and commercially viable renewable energy projects from early concept through to successful delivery.

The Role

In this role you'll produce quotations and deliver pre-installation design services across Solar PV, Battery Storage and Energy Monitoring projects. Working closely with sales, commercial and delivery teams, you'll ensure designs are efficient, cost effective and fully compliant, supporting successful project delivery from enquiry through to commissioning.

What You'll Do

  • Produce PV designs, yield forecasts and financial projections
  • Prepare accurate quotations and cost estimates
  • Create technical drawings and specifications using AutoCAD
  • Complete G99/G100 grid applications and planning submissions
  • Generate cable calculations (e.g. Trimble, ElectricalOM)
  • Support projects throughout the full lifecycle
  • Build strong relationships with DNOs, suppliers and internal teams

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in renewable or building services design
  • Strong understanding of Solar PV or Battery Storage
  • Experience using PVSol, PVSyst, PVCase and AutoCAD (or similar)
  • Knowledge of G99/G100 connection requirements
  • Commercial awareness and strong communication skills
  • Proactive, detail-focused and keen to develop
  • Ideally have a Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Building Services or Similar
