CAD Technician

With a strong pipeline of secured projects, we’re looking for a talented CAD Technician to join our team at our head office in Uddingston. Part of the wider [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], we support the UK’s journey to Net Zero by designing and delivering technically robust and commercially viable renewable energy projects from early concept through to successful delivery.
The Role
As CAD Technician, you’ll be responsible for producing and coordinating technical drawings across renewable energy projects. You’ll work alongside Design Engineers and the wider project team to translate concepts into detailed layouts that support planning, grid applications and construction. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys the precision and problem-solving side of design and wants to contribute to meaningful renewable energy projects.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Producing detailed electrical schematics and technical drawings using AutoCAD
- Developing site layouts for Solar PV and Battery Storage systems
- Preparing drawing packs for planning and DNO/grid submissions
- Updating and revising drawings as projects develop
- Coordinating design information across disciplines
- Ensuring drawings meet relevant standards and client requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Strong AutoCAD experience
- Background in construction, M&E or energy projects
- Understanding of technical drawing standards
- Organised, detail oriented and able to manage multiple live projects
- Ability to manage workload across multiple live projects
- A collaborative approach and good communication skills
- Awareness of Solar PV or battery storage design principles (desirable)
