Job Description

We are looking for an experienced accountant who has worked in a practice environment to join our friendly team. As one of our accountants, you will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of a portfolio of clients, ensuring that we provide excellent client service throughout. You will also be expected to train and support the wider team in the office and seek out opportunities for the firm to grow further, either through improving our internal processes or through taking on new work.

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of clients across a range of sectors
• Overseeing the preparation and review of statutory accounts and management reports
• Managing the day-to-day operations of the accounts team
• Supporting & mentoring junior team members
• Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and deadlines
• Coordinating workflow, setting deadlines, and maintaining efficiency across client engagements
• Liaising with clients, responding to queries, and offering strategic advice
• Working closely with the senior leadership team to identify growth and service opportunities

Skills and Experience

• Experience within an accountancy practice
• Previous experience of managing a portfolio of clients
• Qualified accountant (ACCA/CA) or equivalent experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail
