What You’ll Need

Essential:

  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A friendly, positive approach
  • Clear understanding of health & safety, food safety, and safeguarding

Desirable:

  • Previous experience as a Nursery Chef or in early years
  • Knowledge of Safer Food Better Business and COSHH

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Preparing and cooking nutritious meals
  • Meeting children’s dietary needs and allergies
  • Maintaining a safe, clean kitchen
  • Completing daily cleaning checks
  • Serving meals in line with nursery routines
  • Managing laundry duties
  • Monitoring and ordering supplies
  • Using hazard signage
  • Following health & safety policies
  • Creating homely mealtime experiences
  • Building positive relationships
  • Participating in staff meetings
