Deputy Service Manager
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Limited is seeking a Deputy Service Manager to lead the residential team at Willow View, Bradford. This is a full-time, on-site role requiring managerial experience in care settings.
Job Description
To act in the capacity as Team Leader within the organisation.
- Be responsible for, and Line Manager to the Residential Team.
- Reporting and contributing to the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Limited Management Team.
- To provide a professional residential care service, implementing recommendations made in the Care Standards Act 2000 and other supportive legislation.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the Residential Team within the home and be responsible for the general management of this group, co-ordinate activities, procedures and duties.
- Contribute to the Management Team of [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Limited. Undertake on-call duty in order to ensure 24 hours management team cover of the establishment.
- To enhance and maintain high standards of care within the home. Ensuring at all times that service users are treated with dignity and respect and with particular regard for individual needs.
- Take responsibility for residents medical and health care. Co-ordinate the Keyworker system, ensure files are regularly updated and regular progress meeting reports are prepared.
- Be responsible for the Residential Team social and recreational budget. Plan and co-ordinate organised activities utilising this.
- Make arrangements for adequate staff cover during periods of annual leave and sick leave. Cover personally if the situation warrants this. Participate in sleeping-in duties and work by rota.
- To liaise professionally with others. Organise and lead staff meetings in the absence of the Manager, ensuring these are minuted.
- Provide guidance and supervision to subordinate staff. Contribute to in-service training, in particular the induction of RSW personnel.
- Take advantage of training opportunities made available by [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Limited.
- Monitor home life/care team materials and equipment, making sure that everything is in good working order.
- To promote and maintain good channels of communication amongst the team and between service users and staff.
- Liaise with families and other agencies in a professional manner, promoting a positive profile of [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Limited and Learning Disabilities.
- To ensure that your conduct within and outside the company does not conflict with the professional expectations of [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Limited.
- Willingness to undertake N.V.Q. Assessors Award.
- Attend to management responsibility as requested by the Manager.
- Undertake other duties as required by the Manager, providing they are appropriate to the position.
