It is one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects, committed to in the Autumn 2024 Budget, and aims to boost the UK economy by up to £78 billion.
Role Summary
This role is responsible for developing and managing strategic relationships with key suppliers supporting the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] programme. The Supplier Relationship Manager works closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure strong performance, value for money and collaborative delivery across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage strategic relationships with key suppliers
- Act as primary point of contact for supplier relationship management
- Monitor supplier performance against KPIs and contractual obligations
- Facilitate regular supplier performance reviews and governance meetings
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Commercial, Programme Delivery, Finance
- Identify and manage supplier-related risks and issues
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers
- Support development of supplier relationship management strategies
- Ensure supplier compliance and issue PA23 notices
- Provide insight and reporting on supplier performance
- Promote collaborative working across the supply chain
- Support Commercial function in managing supplier disputes
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential
- Proven experience in Supplier Relationship Management, Contract Management or Commercial Management
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Experience managing supplier performance through KPIs and governance frameworks
- Good understanding of procurement and contract management lifecycle
- Experience identifying and managing supplier risks
- Ability to analyse supplier performance data and provide reporting
Desirable
- Power BI dashboard experience
- Experience in complex infrastructure, construction, rail, or public sector
- Knowledge of procurement systems like SAP or Jaggaer
