Welder/Fabricator for the Defence Sector x 2 – [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]

Location: Rotherham, S60 (Close to Meadowhall, Sheffield) – UK

Salary: £17.51 - £21.18 per hour (depending on experience and weld test)

Shift: 3-shift rotating (Days 6am-2pm, Afternoons 2pm-10pm, Nights 10pm-6am) – flexibility available

About the Role

  • Perform welding activities on carbon steel, armour steel, and aluminium
  • Weld various joint configurations in all positions
  • Ensure equipment parameters are set optimally to satisfy weld quality, integrity, and WPS requirements
  • Review engineering drawings for parts to be welded
  • Work to tolerances on fabrication drawings
  • Satisfy production schedules to correct quality level and within specified time scale
  • Carry out and record daily/weekly/monthly maintenance checks and necessary safety checks
  • Ensure correct marking up of component parts

About You (Requirements)

  • Minimum 12 months welding/fabrication experience
  • Understanding of quality procedures and specific customer requirements
  • Ideally a coded welder
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering design and manufacturing procedures
  • Proficient with metal fabrication tools
  • Advanced mathematical and engineering skills
  • Ability to lift and manipulate large metal objects
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to remain focused on quality and reiterate its importance
  • Strong problem-solving skills and innovative concepts
