Location: Hylton View, Old Mill Road, Southwick, Sunderland SR5 5TP
Salary: £12.71 Per Hour
Hours: 24 Hours/week across 3 days

Your Role

As a Kitchen Assistant you will support in the smooth running of the kitchen by helping with basic food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting the cooking team. This is an essential role that helps ensure meals are delivered safely, hygienically, and efficiently.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Assisting with basic food prep tasks such as peeling, chopping, and portioning
  • Prepare simple dishes as directed (e.g. salads, sandwiches)
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
  • Clean kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas
  • Unpack and store deliveries correctly (following rotation and labelling procedures)
  • Adhere to all food hygiene, health, and food safety standards

What We're Looking For

  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Previous kitchen or catering experience desirable but not essential
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently when needed
  • Reliable, flexible, and a strong team player
