Claims Handler [European Motor]

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Group is hiring a Claims Handler to manage a portfolio of international Motor claims, focusing on European portfolios including Netherlands, France and wider Europe. The role involves handling complex cross-border claims, overseeing TPAs, negotiating settlements, and ensuring strong reserving discipline. Based in London with hybrid working.

Responsibilities

  • Handling complex, cross-border claims, including disputed, high-value matters and claims involving bodily injury and catastrophic losses
  • Reviewing and overseeing claims handled by TPAs, particularly those exceeding authority limits
  • Applying strong technical knowledge across liability, coverage and reserving
  • Negotiating with counterparties, legal representatives and stakeholders
  • Identifying trends and contributing to portfolio performance and savings initiatives
  • Supporting due diligence and integration of newly acquired portfolios
  • Collaborating across teams to ensure consistent claims handling standards

Candidate Requirements

  • Right to work in the location you’re applying to
  • Proven experience handling Motor claims across European jurisdictions
  • Exposure to Dutch and/or French motor portfolios (Essential)
  • Strong understanding of motor liability and policy coverage interpretation
  • Experience working with or overseeing Third-Party Administrators (TPAs)
  • Confidence handling complex or high-value claims
  • Solid reserving and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple jurisdictions and competing priorities
