Electrical & Instrumentation Technician (Shift)

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] ([Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]) is looking for an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Technician at the London (West Thurrock) site. This is a full-time, shift-based role offering a competitive salary, pension, and benefits.

Job Description

As an E&I Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • The maintenance of electrical equipment and troubleshooting circuit problems including to install, rebuild, commission or repair electrical equipment as needed. Whilst on shift you will be required to assist with all service calls.
  • Working closely within the operating area you’re assigned to, providing insights into the work team to ensure that business goals are achieved. Proactively assisting operations technicians in troubleshooting and emergency repairs as well as to support and learn Mechanical Maintenance skills and tasks as necessary.
  • Safety is a priority at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]. You will be responsible for your personal safety as well as assisting where you can with the safety of other team members and contractors. This includes ensuring all safety rules and safe work procedures are followed, reporting near misses, and maintaining housekeeping.
  • Productivity and Reliability: you will need to safely troubleshoot issues by reading logic in PLCs and other control equipment, use diagnostic equipment and troubleshoot issues related to production machine coordinated drives. You will also need to maintain the SAP Plan Maintenance System, including following all computer based and paper processes for work order completion and documentation.

This role is shift based, meaning you will be required to work a 12-hour shift pattern, with a mixture of both days and nights.

Job Qualifications

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Are qualified to a minimum of ONC/C&G Part III or HNC/NVQ Level 3 in an Electrical Engineering time-served apprenticeship.
  • Have proven electrical experience in either process or a production environment in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods or similar industry.
  • Have electrical experience in the following manufacturing processes including, but not limited to PLC (Allen Bradley preferably) control systems, SCADA systems, instrumentation and 415v motor control circuits.
  • Have high level of accountability coupled with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence others.
  • Are willing to suggest and implement changes that will improve systems, work processes and equipment reliability.
  • Fluent ability to communicate in English.
