Garage Mechanic – Ellesmere, Shropshire

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is a well-established, family-run business with a strong reputation across multiple divisions including; builders merchants, concrete, aggregates and waste. We are looking for a skilled and reliable Garage Mechanic to join our busy workshop team.

Location: Wood Lane, Ellesmere
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday: 7:00am – 5:00pm, Occasional Saturday overtime: 8:00am – 12:00pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on vans, HGVs and light commercial vehicles
  • Diagnose faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in line with health & safety regulations
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records
  • Support the wider team to keep the workshop running efficiently
  • Good understanding of current MOT testing standards and regulations

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a mechanic or vehicle technician
  • Relevant qualifications
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Full UK HGV driving licence (Essential)
  • MOT Tester Qualifications (Desirable)
