Engineering / Virtual Simulation Modelling Engineer

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking automotive organisation as an Engineering / Virtual Simulation Modelling Engineer. You will support the development of components using advanced CAE techniques, focusing on durability and robustness.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of automotive components and systems using advanced CAE techniques to meet durability and robustness performance targets.
• Conduct CAE analysis, summarise findings, and provide actionable insights to design and engineering teams.
• Propose innovative improvements to existing modelling methods to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
• Develop automated tools for pre- and post-processing of simulations, streamlining workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, packaging, and programme teams.
• Present findings and recommendations at design reviews.

Requirements

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong experience in LS-Dyna explicit simulations within the automotive sector.
• Proficiency in LS-Dyna solver and CAE meshing tools such as HyperMesh or Ansa.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently on full vehicle models.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
