Job Description

Our client, [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], is a leading global manufacturing company based in Worcester. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a market leading Machine Tool manufacturer. [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] are the preferred supplier to [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal].

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer with a solid background in electrical control systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, maintaining, troubleshooting and optimising machine tool electrical retrofits. The work is carried out in close liaison with Mechanical and PLC Engineers.

  • Develop, test and maintain electrical systems for new and existing equipment
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in electrical systems and associated control panels
  • Design, install and commission electrical systems for [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] machines and automation equipment
  • Interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Ensure all systems meet electrical standards and safety regulations (eg. IEC, NEC, CE)
  • Provide regular maintenance and support for machine tool electrical systems and electrical control systems
  • Perform system testing, calibration and validation to ensure optimal performance
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including electrical schematics and operational procedures
  • Ensure that all electrical installations comply with relevant health and safety regulations
  • Collaborate with safety teams to implement machine safety systems and ensure compliance with ISO and other safety standards
  • Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical and control issues across the site.

Essential Criteria

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, automation or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • A minimum 3-5 years' experience in electrical design and troubleshooting, with strong experience in designing, implementing and maintaining of electrical control systems.
  • Technical knowledge of electrical control systems, including panel wiring, motor control and power distribution.
  • Familiarity with IEC, NEC and other relevant electrical standards.
  • Hands on experience with automation and control systems in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of other Mitsubishi electrical systems.

Desirable Criteria

  • Basic understanding of PLCs
  • Zuken / E3 or similar software experience
  • Knowledge of PLM systems such as Windchill
  • Strong problem solving skills and analytical thinking
  • Electrical certifications (eg. 18th Edition, CompEx or equivalent) are highly desirable
