The Company
Our client, [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], is a leading global manufacturing company based in Worcester. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a market leading Machine Tool manufacturer who have been at the forefront of the industry for many years.
Due to increased workload within the department, our client now has a requirement for an Assembly Precision Spindle Operative.

Job Description – The Role
The role is to repair broken [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] spindles to new standards and will involve various assembly tasks related to spindle build such as:
- Precision measuring of spindle components.
- Precision assembly and adjustment related to [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] work instructions.
- Carrying out various quality checks during the assembly process involving precision equipment such as micrometers, test bars, dial test indicators, clamp force and axial force gauges.
- Balancing of spindle cartridges.
- Electrical checks of stators (new and re-used/repaired) to ensure conformance to standard [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] check sheets.
- Some electrical assembly work is required however the role is mainly mechanically focused.
The Person
Essential Criteria
- Background in precision engineering.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated and good communication, attention to detail.
- Organised, able to plan ahead and good ability to follow written procedures.
- Ability to work to tight tolerances using hand tools and measuring equipment
Desirable Criteria
- Apprentice trained.
- Good understanding of mechanical component drawings and assemblies.
- Previous experience in spindle assembly.
- Good understanding of testing electrical motors and fault finding.
- Previous experience with vernier callipers, depth mics, force gauges and micrometers.
- IT skills, and previous experience with Microsoft packages

- Overtime is paid at Time 1/3 first 2 hours then Time 1/2 thereafter each day. Saturday is Time 1/2 and Sunday Double Time.
