The Role
- Precision measuring of spindle components
- Precision assembly and adjustment related to [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] work instructions
- Carrying out various quality checks during assembly process using micrometers, test bars, dial test indicators, clamp force and axial force gauges
- Balancing of spindle cartridges
- Electrical checks of stators to ensure conformance to standard [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] check sheets
- Some electrical assembly work required, mainly mechanically focused
Essential Criteria
- Background in precision engineering
- Good problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated with good communication and attention to detail
- Organised, able to plan ahead and follow written procedures
- Ability to work to tight tolerances using hand tools and measuring equipment
Desirable Criteria
- Apprentice trained
- Good understanding of mechanical component drawings and assemblies
- Previous experience in spindle assembly
- Good understanding of testing electrical motors and fault finding
- Previous experience with vernier callipers, depth mics, force gauges and micrometers
- IT skills and previous experience with Microsoft packages
