About the Company

The Role

  • Precision measuring of spindle components
  • Precision assembly and adjustment related to [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] work instructions
  • Carrying out various quality checks during assembly process using micrometers, test bars, dial test indicators, clamp force and axial force gauges
  • Balancing of spindle cartridges
  • Electrical checks of stators to ensure conformance to standard [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] check sheets
  • Some electrical assembly work required, mainly mechanically focused

Essential Criteria

  • Background in precision engineering
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with good communication and attention to detail
  • Organised, able to plan ahead and follow written procedures
  • Ability to work to tight tolerances using hand tools and measuring equipment

Desirable Criteria

  • Apprentice trained
  • Good understanding of mechanical component drawings and assemblies
  • Previous experience in spindle assembly
  • Good understanding of testing electrical motors and fault finding
  • Previous experience with vernier callipers, depth mics, force gauges and micrometers
  • IT skills and previous experience with Microsoft packages
