Location: Telford | Work Type: On-site | Job Type: Permanent | Salary: £35,115 - 43,486 per year

Job Details

We are looking for a skilled Machine Setter Operator to join our expanding team in Telford. You will be responsible for operating and setting state-of-the-art automated machinery in a fast-paced FMCG food manufacturing environment. This role involves managing machine setups, changeovers, troubleshooting, ensuring food safety and quality compliance, and supporting continuous improvement. Starting salary £35,115 rising to £43,486 with excellent benefits. Shift pattern: 4 on / 4 off – 12-hour rotating shifts (Days & Nights, including weekends).

Key Responsibilities

  • Operating and setting state-of-the-art, fully automated machinery
  • Taking responsibility for your production line: supporting operators, training others, and driving consistent performance
  • Managing machine set-ups, start-ups, changeovers, and adjustments to ensure smooth, efficient output
  • Identifying potential faults early, carrying out basic troubleshooting, and working with engineers to minimise downtime
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to process optimisation
  • Ensuring full Food Safety, Quality, and Health & Safety compliance at all times

Requirements

  • Experienced Machine Setter, Machine Operator, Line Setter, Technical Operator, Production Operator (Technical), Process Operator, or similar
  • Ability to work with machinery, solve problems quickly, and thrive under pressure
  • Team player with enthusiasm, flexibility, and desire to learn new technology
  • Keen to improve processes, embrace lean manufacturing, and support continuous improvement
  • Effective communicator who can follow standards, give direction, and challenge when necessary
  • Experience in FMCG, food, or processing environments is an advantage but not essential
