Finance Manager

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] – an IT Consultancy firm – is seeking a Finance Manager to work closely with a business unit, creating a real and active partnership. You will provide real-time support and analysis, act as a trusted adviser, and add value to assist in decision making and strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high level consultancy role within specialist area to peer group, customers and direct reports
  • Manage and implement projects relevant to specialist area
  • Manage, develop, and coach team of staff and implement performance management solutions
  • Develop and motivate team to ensure delivery of function and business targets
  • Assess situations, issues and opportunities and escalate when appropriate
  • Act as a point of escalation on complex issues and provide support to other team members
  • Maintain confidentiality in all business-related matters
  • Liaise with colleagues to ensure best practice and continual improvement
  • Establish productive relationships at Senior Management level
  • Manage budget/P&L to maintain spend in line with budgetary limitations
  • Adopt best practice and service offerings for consistency
  • Make decisions impacting success of assigned projects (results, deadlines, budget)

Required Skills & Experience

  • Fully qualified in relevant professional qualification
  • Advanced academic background, preferably to good degree level or equivalent
  • Proven track record of work experience in a challenging commercial environment
  • Proven commercial acumen
  • Good working knowledge of relevant functional systems
  • Experience in dealing with and influencing multi-tier management
  • Experience of developing best practice policies and procedures for functional area
