Senior Production Operative

Purpose of Role

Efficient operation of production equipment and manual assembly processes by following all safety procedures ensuring that the production process is running smoothly, and that all products meet the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operation and control of machinery and equipment, ensuring everything is running smoothly to meet production goals.
  • Following specific instructions to assemble parts, components, or materials ensuring accuracy and adherence to quality standards.
  • Continuously monitor production process, inspect products for any defects, and ensuring they meet quality specifications. If required perform tests, measurements, or visual inspections to maintain product integrity.
  • Packaging finished products, labelling them, and preparing them for shipment or distribution.
  • When required, picking, replenishing, tracking and managing inventory levels, ensuring adequate stock of raw materials, components, or finished goods in Production cell locations or Warehouse storage locations.
  • Always following safety guidelines and procedures to protect environment for themselves and colleagues: wearing protective equipment, operating equipment safely, and reporting any hazards or incidents.
  • Cleaning work areas, machinery, and equipment regularly.
  • Working closely with other team members, including supervisors, technicians, engineers or quality control personnel.
  • Immediately report problems / failures that may impact on the organisation and / or its customers to the line manager.

Person Specification

  • Assembling & picking and packing to schedule
  • Forklift truck licence is advantage
  • Health & Safety training
  • Computer and keyboard literate
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction.
  • Decision-making skills, especially in high-pressure situations.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Attention to detail in planning, execution, and follow-through.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding goals and objectives.
  • Proactive, enthusiastic, and driven.
  • Flexibility to work beyond normal business hours when required.
