Purpose of Role
Efficient operation of production equipment and manual assembly processes by following all safety procedures ensuring that the production process is running smoothly, and that all products meet the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate machinery and equipment safely and effectively to support daily production targets.
- Follow work instructions to assemble parts, components, or materials accurately and to the required quality standard.
- Monitor the production process and carry out basic quality checks, including visual inspections, tests, or measurements where required.
- Pack finished products, apply labels, and prepare goods for dispatch or storage.
- Support picking, replenishment, stock tracking, and inventory control to ensure materials and finished goods are available in production cell or warehouse locations.
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures at all times, including the correct use of PPE, safe operation of equipment, and reporting hazards or incidents promptly.
- Keep work areas, machinery, and equipment clean and tidy.
- Work cooperatively with colleagues, supervisors, quality personnel, technicians, and engineers to maintain smooth operations.
- Report any issues, faults, or failures that may affect production, quality, or customer service to the line manager immediately.
- Carry out assembly, picking, packing, and other production tasks in line with the daily schedule.
Person Specification
- Previous experience in assembly, picking, packing, or manufacturing/warehouse operations preferred.
- Forklift truck licence would be an advantage.
- Basic Health & Safety awareness.
- Computer and keyboard literacy.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to changing priorities.
- Organised and able to manage tasks effectively.
- Willingness to work additional hours when required.
- Positive, reliable, and proactive attitude.
